Michael is a Senior Associate of Douglas Partners with over 17 years’ experience in geotechnical and environmental consulting. He completed a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours majoring in Environmental Geoscience at the University of Birmingham, England. Following the completion of studies Michael gained experience in the UK and Canada undertaking geotechnical and contaminated land investigations.
Since joining Douglas Partners in 2011, Michael has worked in both the Macarthur and Wollongong offices. Michael was appointed Environmental Services Manager for the Wollongong office in September 2012 and subsequently appointed Branch Manager for the Wollongong office in August 2021.
Michael has experience in delivering geotechnical, contaminated land and groundwater investigations for a wide variety of clients in private, commercial and government sectors including numerous desktop, preliminary and detailed site investigations, undertaken to support development or rezoning applications for residential, commercial and industrial developments. He also has experience in the remediation and validation of contaminated sites, including experience working with NSW EPA accredited Site Auditors.
Michael also has experience as a design site representative for larger scale infrastructure projects including the M74 extension project in Glasgow and in ongoing consulting for residential subdivisions that have been constructed in the Illawarra including Shell Cove, Bulli Brick Works, Vista Park, Calderwood Valley and Forest Reach. His broad range of experience also includes smaller scale waste classifications, beneficial reuse and resource recovery assessments as well as landfill monitoring and remediation.
