Scott is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer at Douglas Partners and has been based in the Newcastle office since graduating in 1998. Scott obtained his Master Degree in Engineering Science at UNSW and is also a chartered member of Engineers Australia (CP Eng), a registered engineer in Queensland, Australia (RPEQ) and a Design Practitioner under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020.
Scott commenced his career with Douglas Partners having been involved with many small to large earthworks, land reclamation and dam engineering projects in the Hunter Valley and North Coast areas. This experience has given Scott a sound appreciation of geotechnical constructability for earthworks projects in a range of geological conditions. Over the past 15 years, Scott has project managed several large geotechnical investigations for commercial, heavy industrial, port, rail and mine facilities where multiple investigation methods and personnel were required to provide the geotechnical data required for subsequent design and construction. Scott is experienced in the practicalities of pile design, retaining wall design and ground treatment technologies having seen projects develop from initial investigation through to end of construction. He can also bring a high level of expertise in the interpretation and development of geotechnical models to assist in the design of many projects. As the Newcastle Branch Manager, Scott enjoys the role of leading a team who have a broad range of skills that complement one another to achieve outcomes far greater than the sum of each individual.
