Will is Managing Director of Douglas Partners and is actively involved in consulting as a Principal Geotechnical and Groundwater Engineer.
Will has 30 years’ experience in the industry, starting with Douglas Partners as a civil engineering graduate from the University of Newcastle, following which he completed a Master’s in Groundwater Studies from UNSW. He has broad experience in the geotechnical and groundwater fields, mostly related to investigation, numerical modelling and design. His specialisations include investigation and remediation of abandoned mine workings and groundwater impact assessment. The bulk of his experience has been gained in the Hunter and Sydney Regions, he has worked across many regions of Australia and has also spent several years on international projects in the UK, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, China and Vietnam.
He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, Registered Design Practitioner NSW, RPEQ, Engineering Executive and Fellow of Engineers Australia as well as a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
In his role as Managing Director he is instrumental in leading continuous improvements and best practice to consolidate Douglas Partners’ longstanding reputation for outstanding client service and technical excellence, with the implementation of innovative systems and technology. An emphasis on fostering an inclusive culture and learning & development, together with a priority on cooperation and collaboration across the geography and disciplines of the business are leading to even better outcomes for clients.
Will is a signatory and active member of Consult Australia Male Champions of Change which is advancing equality in the engineering consulting industry. Will is passionate about diversity and inclusion and a key initiative for Will is to improve diversity and inclusion within Douglas Partners and the wider engineering industry.
