Douglas Partners are assisting with the restoration works of the Catholic mission at Mendi, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea.
Several structures associated with the mission underwent structural damage as a result of recent earthquake activity and Douglas Partners have been engaged to provide geotechnical advice for proposed restoration of damaged buildings. Given the remote location of the works, it has its challenges including all works being carried out by hand. But with the very kind assistance of the locals, they made a difficult job a lot easier.
